Short-ish update

Wow, this blog has been silent for awhile. I decided to write an update on life right now.
The first big news that is rather old now is that Emily is engaged!! Jeffrey and her are going to be married in April and I can't wait. I'm the first bridesmaid and sometime this week, my bridesmaid dress is going to get here. I'm the only bridesmaid that already is getting her dress just because Emily wanted to see how this style looked and to figure out if we liked it.
Right after they were engaged, Jeffrey texted me and asked me to come over to Michael's house to take pictures of them. I came and I was feeling pretty happy that I got to be the first person to see them after they were an engaged couple.
Besides being a bridesmaid for the wedding, my other important thing that I'm doing for this wedding is making the slideshow. I love working on that and I've already gotten all of Emily's pictures gathered. Now I just need Jeffrey's and I can work on organizing everything.

I thought this pictures was cute. This is one I'm using for the slideshow

Guess what I've already started working on? I'll give you a clue. It is a blog project that usually comes out at the end of the year. ;) Yep, I've already started working on my End Year Review. I love working on that blog post because I love remember all the fun times and highlights I've been through in the year. I can't believe 2015 is almost over!
Another thing worth pointing out is that I'm now 17. My birthday was very special even though it was celebrated a day late. I got lots of candy and other presents and I felt very spoiled and thankful for my family.
This past weekend, Mom, Dad, and Michael went to visit Papa. When they came home, Mom had a box filled with all our letters that we had written to Granny and Papa. Each child had an individual envelope filled with pictures, letters, and stories. I use to write to Granny and Papa every week (I still do, but not as consistently as I use to) so I've been reading those letters. I so wish that I could write a letter to Granny write now and tell her everything that I've been doing and whats new in my life. I miss her.
Well, when I sat down to write this post, I was thinking of all sorts of things I could write about, but now I can't think of anything more to write about. So I guess I'll just leave you with this shorter update.

Papa's 89th

Here is my promised post! We went to Papa's for his 89th birthday (which just happened to land on Father's day as well!) and it was a really fun time. But my favorite part was probably finding all those old pictures and things. If I feel up to it, I might take pictures of all my collections and post them! ;)
Papa's cake.

Tommy and Kyle being weird. They are usually
weird whenever they are together. ;)

Janeal and Papa have pictures like this from 2005 and 2008 and now

Emily and Aunt Vicki and Uncle Greg's grandson, Grayson.

Cherry picking!

Michael found a big clump of cherries and he was impressed by
how many there were

My refection

This was really funny. Emily locked herself into the bathroom
and we had to rescue her. The lock on the door broke and she
got stuck in there. =)

We picked some of Granny's roses that are in her garden and brought them to her.

Catch up!

Sorry for no posts lately. Life has been busy and and I really haven't stopped to take time to blog! So I'll do a quick post to catch up....=)

  •  We recently went to Papa's house for his 89th birthday. I will hopefully do a post about that soon. On Sunday while we were there I stayed home from church to find a bunch of pictures of Papa so I could scan them at home. I love, love, love going through those dresses at his house and founding old pictures. This time my favorite treasure to bring home was 2 really old news papers dated in 1945!! The Headlines on one of the papers said, "HITLER DEAD" and another one said, "FDR dies." That was Franklin Roosevelt. Anyways, yesterday I sat down a actually looked at them. It was so cool to read. Everything was about WWII and it was really cool. I could almost picture myself back in that time.
  • On Sunday a few of us went down to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see Aunt Marlene and the girls. It was fun. Nikki and I sat out on Grandma's front step and looked at pictures from Florida. :)
  • Do you want to know what I'm doing a lot of lately? Scanning pictures of Papa onto our computer. It is actually really fun. I love seeing pictures and so this was a good job for me. Here is one of my favorite pictures from when he was young. It isn't my favorite though. There is one that is my most favorite picture of him ever...but....I couldn't find it when we went to Papa's last so next time I will look really hard for it.
This was when he was in the war. He is in the Middle.
Don't even ask me who those other 2 dudes are....
  • Karin and the boys drove from Florida with Jamie and Corine to com visit us! It was really fun to see them. On Friday we got to babysit them while Karin did something else and it was so much fun to have them. I dressed them up like cowboys and took some pictures. :)
I edited them so they look old but when I look a that picture of Papa, I can see that
they really don't look all that old! ;)

  • Today I went shopping and found some more summer clothes so I'm happy.
  • I am vowing to read more books this summer. Maybe if I do I'll tell you about them all at the end of summer. Oh man...I don't want to think about fall already!
  • Well, I have work to do. Stay tuned for more! :)
